WhatsApp has rapidly become a business tool for communicating and exchanging pictures with customers. We offer a WhatsApp button on your website if requested. As well as responding on your phone, you can run WhatsApp on a Windows PC, Apple Mac or Chromebook. There are two main ways to do this: using the WhatsApp Desktop app or using WhatsApp Web in a browser.
WhatsApp Desktop App
The WhatsApp Desktop app is a native application specifically designed for Windows and Mac, offering improved performance and reliability compared to using WhatsApp in a browser.
You can download it from the WhatsApp Download page or the Microsoft Store.
The app requires Windows 10 version 1903 (64-bit) or later. On a Chromebook, its just another Google App.
WhatsApp Web
WhatsApp Web is a browser-based extension of your WhatsApp account on your phone.
You can access it by going to the WhatsApp Web page and scanning the QR code with your phone’s WhatsApp app. It allows you to use WhatsApp on any computer with a supported browser.
WhatsApp Web and the Desktop app sync messages between your phone and computer, so you can see your messages on both devices.
Adding WhatsApp to your Website
We use the Free Plugin from Ninja Team https://ninjateam.org/whatsapp-chat-wordpress/. We find the basic settings helpful, for example we can set which days of the week and what times we want the button to be displayed. It defaults from 0800 to 1730, seven days a week.
